Pettigrew State Park

This park was once a large plantation. These are cypress trees. As you see the other photographs you will see Phelps Lake. It is the oldest natural lake in North Carolina. The park is located in Creswell, North Carolina. This is my latest adventure getting to know the state parks in North Carolina. What is so unique is the range of parks from the coastal communities to its Piedmont area to the mountains. So much to see and time is just ticking away. I will be doing all of this on a five hundred dollar budget. My goal is to show how you can have a good time with little money and also the free things to do in the state. There is no admission for this park but it does take donations.
