I never reflected how my life was impacted by Michael Jackson until I realized he is gone. My first poster I bought was of the Jackson 5 at the age of nine. I got it at the Woolworth's downtown Danville, Virginia. Seeing my brother moonwalk for the first time was priceless. Watching my son with is his black zipper jacket and his MJ tape he played endlessly was annoying but he loved MJ's music and actually had the glove. I'm mourning and celebrating a man who opened so many doors for my people in and out of the music industry. I feel this so deeply and I keep asking myself why? Maybe it has to do with a person many didn't truly understand or accept and I can relate to that. He gave until he just gave out. I truly loved Michael and how his music marked major milestones in my life and redefined pop culture in many ways. I shout out to my friends from high school who went crazy when the Off the Wall album came out. We did a whole school end of the year show to that and it rocked the auditorium.
Im sure Michael is moon walking across the clouds.
